How my journey has shaped so far…

It all begins with an idea, doesn’t it?

Growing up I have always been a very curious child. Fortunately, I have nurtured my curiosity over the years and have encouraged it in my personal and professional life. It was this curiosity that helped me venture into design in the initial years of my career.

From early on I have leaned into the habit of asking “why?” a lot. Why do certain things a certain way? Why can’t we find a simpler way to do things? I enjoy knowing the reasons, researching, and exploring different perspectives.

My journey in the design world has taught me valuable practices that extend beyond my career, enriching every aspect of my personal life. One of them is understanding different people’s perspectives on the same problem or situation. Practicing empathy has widened my ability to understand and accept that there isn’t just one way to navigate any situation.

It’s by being curious and making efforts to know the “why” is how I have grown strength to strength (and continue to do so) in my journey so far!

P.S. I am currently diving into Conversational AI design and learning German and French on the side.

My process

Product Research & Strategy

I start by familiarizing myself with the product vision and strategy at the start of any project I undertake. As a product designer, I value the long-term vision and like to align it to understand “the big picture” of the product. Conducting stakeholder interviews, industry-wide competitive analysis, and user research including interviews and creating personas helps to establish a good understanding of the product and its users and the potential of it being scalable and desirable.

User Interface & Prototyping

The great appearance and user interface of a product always bring in the users and it’s the experience that makes them stay. I value balancing this element to craft enjoyable high-fidelity and interactive prototypes, which serve dual purposes: bringing new users in and making the UI remember-worthy.

User Experience

It is crucial for me that users that I design a wholesome experience while using the product as well as when they are done using the product. Experience that makes the design invisible or evokes a positive emotion from my users is a win for me. I draw my inspiration from real-world solutions, simplicity, and uncovering the root cause.

Refining, Analytics & Iterations

I value usability testing and gathering consumer feedback a lot in my product design approach because it allows me to assess and validate my ideas directly with users. During this phase, I dive into our users' behavioral patterns, preferences, and suggestions to inform my design decisions thoroughly. I firmly believe that design is an ongoing journey, constantly evolving, and adapting to changes, and I find fulfillment in embracing that process!
